I recently received a couple of unexpected (and very pleasant) responses / reviews of last single ’95’. This got me to thinking…

I have spent a lot of time in the last twelve months recording, gigging, driving, Tweeting, making videos, posting news stories and sending my music to radio stations, bloggers and the music media. It can be an all consuming lifestyle.

So when someone, it doesn’t matter who, takes the time to watch one of my videos, listen to a song, talk to me at a gig, buy a CD, reply to an email or write a review, it means a great deal. It feels like being given a gift; a gift better than anything money can buy. It’s a very welcome reward for the hard work.

So I want to say a very big thank you to every person who has come to see me play live or watched even if they weren’t there to see me; to those people who wanted to share their thoughts with me after a performance, or bought a CD, t-shirt or badge, or signed up to my mailing list. Thank you to everyone that featured in a video or watched a video or shared it or ‘Thunderclapped’ it (whatever that is!). To all those who can’t get to a gig but might have bought my music online or taken a few minutes to listen to a song (even if I just sent them a random Tweet); thank you. To all those DJ’s that have played my music or listened to a song (even if it wasn’t right for their station); thank you. And to all those reviewers and bloggers who took a few minutes to read an email or press release, to those who listened to a song and wrote a kind reply (whether or not they wrote a review); thank you.

I love what I do and I couldn’t do it with you. Whilst I like writing songs at home, it is nothing compared to performing to a receptive audience like the ones I am honoured to play in front of.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you all because I feel like I’m moving forward and upward and it is a very exciting time and I want you all on the journey with me…
