It’s hard to believe that it’s been over three years since I released my last album. I was reminded of this the other day when I was back in the studio where I recorded ‘The Last One’. Yes, I was actually in a recording studio, making music (!). It felt amazing to be back there, and even better because I’m excited about this new project.

As you can see from the pretty picture above, the project is called ‘Star Pixel’. It’s a duo comprising me and my good friend Charlie Howell.

Just before the world turned a little crazier than normal, Charlie suggested we make an album together and I jumped at the chance. Over the last year, when I’ve not been able to get out on stage as normal, writing with Charlie has kept me sane!

It’s been a little odd collaborating from a distance but, at the same time, hugely inspiring as we’ve brought the best out of each other, a wonderful blend of different styles and ideas.

What this all means is that we are working toward bringing you our debut album in the autumn. Our first single – ‘The Circle’ – will be released in June. It was borne out of this strange situation we’ve all been living through and we hope it will bring some positivity to people’s lives.

‘But what do you sound like?’, I hear you ask.

Well, we’re calling it sci-fi-electro-grunge-step.

We’re not sure what that means either, other than that we’ve taken our mutual love for 90’s grunge and blended it with other genres, electronic beats and contemporary production.

It feels great to be making some loud music again, whilst also trying something different, new and fresh.

We can’t wait to share it with you soon…

‘In the circle we are strong…’
